Konkan Railway Junior Technical Assistant Recruitment 2026 Overview

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has released a recruitment notification for the post of Junior Technical Assistant / Mechanical on a fixed-term contract basis in the Mechanical and Project Department. The initial appointment is for a period of one year, which may be extended based on project requirements and satisfactory performance. A total of 10 vacancies are available across various reservation categories.

Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit

Candidates applying for the Junior Technical Assistant / Mechanical post must possess a full-time Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized AICTE university or institute. Applicants must also meet the post-qualification experience requirements, which include a minimum of one year for degree holders and two years for diploma holders. The upper age limit is set at not more than 40 years as of September 1, 2026. Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories such as OBC-NCL and SC/ST as per government guidelines.

Remuneration and Allowances

Selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration depending on the class of city posting, ranging between Rs. 41,380 and Rs. 47,220. The consolidated amount includes basic pay, DA, HRA, conveyance, and mobile allowance. An annual increase of 4% of the consolidated remuneration will be applied after the completion of every year, subject to KRCL requirements and discretion.

Selection Process and Walk-in Details

Selection will be conducted through a walk-in interview. Candidates must register at the venue between 09:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs on the date of the walk-in interview. Depending on the volume of applicants, KRCL may introduce preliminary screening rounds, group discussions, or written tests. Candidates must attend the interview at their own expense, bringing all original certificates, self-attested photocopies, and a completed application form in the prescribed format (Annexure-A).

Important Instructions for Applicants

Applicants must ensure they fulfill all eligibility conditions and carry mandatory documents, including proof of age, educational mark sheets, caste certificates in the central government format (if applicable), experience certificates, and a character certificate from a Gazetted Officer or Executive Officer. Selected candidates must be prepared to join within 30 days of receiving the appointment offer and execute an indemnity bond.
