The exam will be held on Sunday, 1 November 2026 in two shifts: the Upper Primary paper in the morning and the Primary paper in the afternoon. The admit card is available online only on jac.jharkhand.gov.in and no copy is sent by post.

Second Primary (Classes 1 to 5) 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM 12:00 PM 1:30 PM

The gate closes 30 minutes before each paper starts. Candidates who have applied for both levels will write both papers on the same day, so plan food and travel accordingly.

Documents to Carry

  • Printed JTET admit card
  • Original photo ID such as Aadhaar
  • A passport-size photograph, if asked in the instructions
  • Disability certificate, for PwD candidates

PwD candidates get 30 minutes of extra time. A scribe is allowed subject to the conditions set by the District Education Officer.

Why JTET Matters

A JTET certificate is required to apply for government teacher posts in Jharkhand schools at the primary and upper primary levels. Passing the Primary paper makes you eligible for Classes 1 to 5, and the Upper Primary paper for Classes 6 to 8. Many candidates write both to keep both options open for future recruitments.

Final Week Checklist

  • Check the route to your centre a day before.
  • Keep two printouts of the admit card.
  • Carry a transparent water bottle and blue or black ball pen if the instructions allow.
  • Do not carry mobile phones or smart watches; there is usually no safe place to keep them at the centre.
