Candidates currently appearing in their final year or semester of a Master's degree program are also permitted to apply.
Regarding age restrictions, there is no minimum age bar or upper age limit specified for appearing in the CG SET examination.
Examination Scheme and Selection Process
The selection procedure relies heavily on an offline written test divided into two separate papers. Paper-I evaluates general awareness, reasoning ability, and teaching or research aptitude through 50 objective questions carrying 100 marks within one hour. Paper-II focuses on the chosen domain subject, comprising 100 objective questions for 200 marks over a duration of two hours.
Qualifying standards dictate that only the top 6% of candidates who appear in both papers and achieve the minimum aggregate qualifying marks (40% for General and EWS, 35% for reserved categories) will earn eligibility certification.
